Christmas...condensed

Maybe it was the rush after school got out---we went until the Friday before, maybe it was the migraine that kept me from going to Mom's on Saturday, maybe it was the "we are all grown up" attitude from the kids, maybe it was the yucky weather, or maybe it was the no church family but Christmas was not full of wonder this year. My disappointment was apparent to me although none of the kiddos said anything. I did not even go see the lights this year! What happened?

Tired, drained, stressed, sick, worried
that's how I ended my year.

But I am determined to be happy, thankful, appreciative, joyful
                 for my new year.

*I tried to add Christmas picks but uhoh computer wouldn't let me. UGH!!

BE JOYFUL!!

just sayin'.....

I miss reading! yes I know I am reading constatly for work and school. but what about me?? I miss reading just for relaxation! No falling into a story for me, no silly romances or crazy fantasy, NO TIME FOR ME!!! And I miss it lots!!

There I feel so much better. I promised not to rush through life so I can't say I wish it was December. I do hope I get a train trip for a graduation gift and then I will take books to read! yippee!

Or a brighter note, work is awesome. I am so loving the library! I laugh everyday. I haven't even wished to take a day off. Monday through Wednesday too busy but Thursday and Friday are filled with great things too. Book fair in three weeks. Library Pages-student volunteers- start Monday.

Oh year, I cut my hair so short that I am cold all the time. LOL-one of my first graders said-Mrs. Thompson! your mom cut your hair. :)

Free time???

So school has been in session for three weeks! I think I have free time now but I am sure I am just forgetting to do something. UHH YEAH---I am too lazy to get dressed to go to Walmart and do shopping. The dogs will not be happy when supper time rolls around and there is no dog food!! so yes there is always something to do around here.

My new dream job is ......well--dreamy! I do not miss the classroom at all! Guess that means it was truly time to get out!! Kinda scary though!!! I am mentoring a new teacher so at least I am still thinking about the classroom some!

This is the last semester of school to complete my master's. After a summer of work, work, work the pace seems really slow. I am sure I am just anxious to be DONE!!!!!!

I have been doing a lot of pinning on pinterest so check it out. Of course I do not pin all the funnies I read on their humor page....got a rep to hold on too!

Oh my little blog---how I have ignored you!!!
People may think I am leading this crazy busy life..but maybe I am just lazy!

I have been adding to my newest blog..http://lostinthebooktoday.blogspot.com/
I had to create a new blog for my media production class in May and have actually kept it up(sorta..)

This is short and sweet but I really do have homework.

memories of mr. rogers

I know ...what a random post after nothing for so long! I've become a juggler....family,work,school

I loved Mr. Rogers and everything he stood for. I try to carry that time and those standards as I go along my way. His messages are still current and important!

I am a Nerd

My online classes have started and I am so excited. I am taking three classes towards my masters degreee. I am concerned that I will be stressed beyond belief but so excited. All I can think is that I wish my classroom kids could be as excited as me. Well, I wish my homeboy-Austin-could be this excited too. So much to learn. I really want to be a librarian and I think I will be good at this. I have so many ideas for making a library great. I want kids to learn to love the library like my mom taught me.

This is so short it shouldn't even count as a post but I have studying to do!!!yippee:)

No Resolutions

WHAT?!?!?  NO resolutions? Doesn't seem very American to even me but that's what is happening here!

No more New Year's Resolutions!

That doesn't mean I don't have expectations but I'm not setting myself up for failure this year!
Hmmm, could I possibly be growing up?

My personal expectations include getting back on the better health habit---vacation is vacation after all, even if you don't leave the house----and working towards my master's degree and working on my relationships--with people and with Jesus Christ.

Beyond personal growth, I would like to do more yard work--maybe a garden, improve my finances, DIY some house projects.

Well is that vague enough to avoid failure?? Ha Ha!

2011 definitely had it's ups and downs and I'm sure 2012 will be the same.

Professionally, I can't help but wonder if this could be my last year in the classroom. I would love to get into that library position but ......
